Windward Oahu gets hit with heavy rain again, flash flood warning through 9:15 PM Friday

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flash flood warning for Oahu through 9:15 PM Friday night. 

At 616 PM HST, radar indicated heavy showers continuing to develop along the windward side from Ahuimanu to Kahuku.

Rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour are occurring.

Elevated streams from recent heavy rainfall in the area could rise rapidly and lead to overflow onto Kamehameha Highway.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to: Ahuimanu, Waikane, Hauula, Laie, Waiahole, Punaluu, Kahaluu and Kaaawa.
