Trade winds to return by Thursday

Weather Blog

A weak trough of low pressure will linger over the island chain tonight through Wednesday night.

This will keep a light wind regime in place, featuring daytime sea breezes and overnight land breezes.

A few showers will develop each day over interior and mauka areas, with a shower or two possible each night in locations near the coast.

High pressure will begin to build north of the state Thursday through the weekend, bringing a return of light trades winds that will slowly increase to moderate levels Sunday through early next week.

Rather dry trade wind weather will persist through Saturday, with a more typical windward and mauka shower regime expected to develop Sunday through early next week.
