Its been a mostly dry start to 2019.
Mostly clear skies prevail across the islands with most clouds and showers over the windward and mauka sections.
Windward areas can expect to see an uptick in showers during the late-night and early-morning hours, while leeward areas looks to be mostly clear and dry.
Our ocean conditions speak a different story as we have High Surf Advisories posted for north, west and east facing shores.
The High Surf Advisories are in effect until Thursday at 6:00 pm.
We also have a Small Craft Advisory in effect until Friday at 6:00 pm.
In terms of our trade winds, we have breezy to locally strong trades across the islands.
Tonight, the trades could ease off a bit as a cold front passes well north of the islands.
Following that front is a high pressure system which looks to pass north of the islands Thursday through Friday.
This will restrengthen the trades from Friday night into Saturday, when then another change takes place.
Due to another cold front approaching the islands from the northwest, our winds will shift to the southeast direction, and light and variable winds will prevail across the islands well into next week.
