Trade winds have returned to the islands, to last for at least a week

Trade winds will gradually increase over the next couple of days as a surface ridge builds north of the islands.

Moderate to locally breezy trade winds will produce a typical pattern of mainly windward rainfall through the week, with a few afternoon showers developing over the Kona slopes of the Big Island.
