Flash flood watch in effect for the state of Hawaii

Update: A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the state of Hawaii until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has also issued a flood advisory for the island of Kauai until 1 p.m.


HONOLULU(KHON2) — An unsettled weather pattern will persist across the island chain through today, with locally heavy rainfall and thunderstorms possible statewide.

The airmass will stabilize Wednesday, but a showery wet trade wind pattern is expected to hold through the weekend. Breezy to windy conditions are expected Thursday through Saturday.
