A front will move over the Hawaiian Islands Thursday and Friday accompanied by showers and possible thunderstorms.
As the front gets closer to the state on Thursday, southwest winds will increase especially over the west end of the state.
Shower activity will likely increase out ahead of the front.
The front is forecast to reach Kauai late Thursday, then move down the island chain reaching the Big Island late Friday.
There is also enough instability for a few thunderstorms to form along the front as well.
Temperatures will be cold enough for the potential for some snow showers over the high summits of the Big Island.
Another front will approach the area early next week with winds becoming southerly out ahead of it.
