Extra showers and heavy rainfall in the forecast Friday.
The approaching cold front is just west of Kauai early Friday morning.
An area of high pressure far north of the state is generating winds but those are being shifted out of the south and southwest.
Once the cold front passes through, a new high pressure will fill in its place. By Saturday on Kauai and Oahu, cool northerly winds will go into affect.
The cold front will slowly pass through the island chain. Maui County and Hawaii Island will see the bulk of the moisture starting Saturday and into early Sunday morning.
As soon as the front passes, sunshine and trade winds will return to end the weekend.
