Flood advisory issued for Oahu through 1:15 AM Saturday

HONOLULU (KHON2) - The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flood advisory for Oahu through 1:15 AM Saturday.

At 1020 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain across northern portions of Oahu windward slopes. This area will likely spread southward over the next few hours.

Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.

Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to: Ahuimanu, Punaluu, Hauula, Kailua, Maunawili, Kaneohe, Waikane, Kaneohe Marine Base, Waiahole, Kahaluu, Laie and Kahuku.

A weak front just west of Kauai will move down the island chain today through Sunday.

Showers are currently moving through Kauai and Oahu Friday evening, and are forecast to be over Maui County and Hawaii Island Saturday.

Passing showers will accompany the frontal passage with drier and cooler weather following in its wake.

A trade wind weather pattern can be expected during the first half of next week as high pressure passes by north of the state.

Winds will become lighter later in the week with an uptick in shower activity becoming a possibility.

No heavy rain is expected for the remaining Bruno Mars shows at Aloha Stadium Saturday and Sunday.  In fact, cooler than normal conditions are expected so you might want to bring a light jacket.
