Trade winds return to islands, storm remnants to bring showers to Hawaii Island Monday

Easterly trade winds are back over the state this weekend and will remain over Hawaii for at least a week.

Wet weather arrives Monday as storm remnants from former Tropical Storm Barbara passes south of the state.

Hawaii Island may see some heavy showers Monday, with scattered showers elsewhere.

High surf advisory is posted for east-facing shores with surf up to 6 to 10 feet on Sunday.
