Hawaii on alert in anticipation of severe weather

Honolulu (KHON2) - A high wind watch is in effect through the entire island chain.    The advisory has been set through 6:00 p.m. Saturday.   Neighborhoods are beginning to see downed trees as a result of the high winds.    Video shows a downed tree near the intersection of Bethel and Hotel St.   Multiple cars were hit, no injuries reported.

The North Shore of Oahu, Molokai and Waianae Coast are currently under a high surf warning through 6:00 a.m. Monday morning.   Saturday's surf is expected to reach 25 - 35 ft, while Sunday is expected to reach 40 to 60 ft. along exposed North facing shores.
