Strong trade winds trigger wind advisories for parts of Maui and Hawaii Island

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A strong high pressure ridge north of the Hawaiian Islands will keep breezy to locally windy trade winds in place through the weekend.

A stable atmosphere will keep weather conditions fairly dry through Monday.

A weakening cold front passing into the region next week will decrease trade wind speeds and may bring increasing shower trends.
