They not only serve as our playground, but as a vital resource that protects our coast, feeds us, and supports an incredible diversity of marine life found nowhere else on the planet. But that resource is seriously threatened by climate change and pollution. On this episode of Empowered, we're going on a journey to discover some efforts being made to protect and sustain ocean life in Hawaii—from speeding up coral growth, to more sustainable fishing, to high tech ocean monitoring from the sky.

Venturing through Wailea Beach Resort John, Kelly, and Mikey each experienced something unique that the resort has to offer. Kelly found serenity through sound meditation and received a rejuvenating massage at Olakino. John went down a 350ft waterslide, the longest in all of Hawai'i. Mikey, found peace and tranquility at the new Sun Deck Garden Oasis.

All month long with the help of Hawaiian Airlines, Living808 featured small business and incredible stories of Maui. To wrap things up Debbie Nakanelua-Richards, Director of Community & Cultural Relations at Hawaiian Airlines to share how they stepped up to help Maui.
