KONA, Hawaii (KHON2) – Highway 11 near mile 97, North of Kona Paradise, in South Kona reopened after a traffic accident.

There were also downed utility poles and lines.

The Hawaii Police Department announced a contraflow after 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14.

The contraflow was expected to last until 1 p.m.

Around 4:30 p.m. the Hawaii Civil Defense reported that the Hawaii Police Department reopened the road.
