Police say the accident happened around 9:05 a.m. Saturday March 27, 2021.

On the H1-Freeway westbound before the Ward Avenue overpass, the accident involved two vehicles and a motorcycle.

A 21-year-old male motorcycle driver was traveling on the H1 westbound.

The motorcycle rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old female that was stopped in traffic. The motorcycle operator then collided with another vehicle driven by a 31-year-old female in another lane also stopped in traffic.

The drivers of the two vehicles were not injured and remained at the scene.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Paramedics responded and provided life savings treatment. He was taken to the hospital critical condition with head injuries.

Police say speed was not a factor in this collision.  It is unknown if alcohol and drugs are contributing factors to this collision.

Westbound traffic was being diverted onto the Wilder Off Ramp from about 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
