HONOLULU (KHON2) — There was a fire on one of the ships in the RIMPAC exercises that happened on Sunday, July 17.
The Peruvian Navy reported a fire on the corvette B.A.P. “Guise.”
It was diminished and controlled by the crew and they received help from other foreign units, according to The Navy of Peru.
The Peruvian Navy also reported that two crew members were burned and received treatment at hospital in Honolulu.
The combined RIMPAC force is providing support to the vessel.

Robertson said the engine room fire on the Combined Task Force surface vessel was extinguished by 1:40 p.m. Two patients were evacuated from the ship by a helicopter from the French navy to the USCGC Midgett.
The patients were then transferred ashore by a U.S. Navy helicopter from USS Abraham Lincoln.

Robertson said the patients were in critically stable condition.
