False active shooter text scares International Market Place businesses

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Businesses at this popular Waikiki shopping center had quite a scare on Wednesday, July 3.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, a text was mistakenly sent to International Market Place businesses that warned of an active shooter.

It happened shortly after noon.

Police say it was an error and that there was no active shooter threat.
