Team Mauka edged team Makai 20-13 in the 2020 Polynesian Bowl on Saturday night at Aloha Stadium.

A pair of players with Hawaii ties took home the MVP honors. St. John’s (Washington D.C) senior, BYU commit and former Kahuku quarterback Sol-Jay Maiava was named offensive MVP. ‘Iolani senior safety/linebacker Lanakila ‘Meki’ Pei was named defensive MVP with a pair of interceptions. Both represented team Mauka in the victory.

Kapolei’s Dezhaun Stribling, who is uncommitted but has offers from Hawaii, San Diego State and Wake Forest, also made a nice play in the game. Below, Hawaii signee and Hilo senior Kilohana Haasenritter scored a touchdown for team Makai.
