After an impressive run into the Big West Conference Tournament championship game this past weekend, the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team (15-16) learned their post season fate on Monday afternoon as the Rainbow Wahine will travel to Moraga, California to face Saint Mary’s (20-11) in the opening round of the WNIT on Friday.
The Rainbow Wahine will be playing in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament for the 10th time in program history.
UH has not made past the opening round of the tournament in their last five tries.
Wahine head coach Laura Beeman has gone 0-3 in WNIT games, a combined 0-4 in the postseason after reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2016.
Back in 1992 under head coach Vince Goo, the Lady ‘Bows reached the tournament championship game which marks as the deepest postseason run in program history.
