Leilehua’s Trayson Kubo drafted by Oakland Athletics

Leilehua graduate Trayson Kubo, a right handed pitcher at Stephen F. Austin was selected un the 24th round by the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday’s final day of the Major League Baseball Draft.

Kubo, who was taken with the 734th overall pick spent two years at Western Arizona College before joining the Lumberjacks in 2018.

As a senior Kubo recorded 64 strikeouts in 64 innings pitched. 

At Leilehua, Kubo collected four varsity letters under head coach Lane Watanuki.
