Kip Akana has resigned as head coach of the St. Francis varsity football team.

Akana was the head coach of the Saints for the past four seasons. He led St. Francis to a undefeated regular season record this season, until all but one of the teams wins were forfeited due to playing an ineligible player.

Akana will remain the St. Francis varsity baseball coach.

Akana’s three sons played on varsity for the Saints football team this season. The oldest, Bubba, will graduate in the spring and play baseball at the University of Hawai’i.
