It’s been four weeks since the Rainbow Warriors football team played a game. Saturday they’ll be looking for win number nine this season.
Louisiana tech is the opponent. These two teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference from 2003 to 2011… Hawaii had a 8-2 record in their 10 meeting. Both the Bulldogs and the ‘Bows had 5-3 conference records this season.
For the University of Hawaii, practice over the past month has involved getting younger players some run and installing the LA Tech gameplan.
“They’re sick of practicing each other,” said Rainbow Warriors head coach Nick Rolovich. Time to just go play another football game. But it’s been good to spend time together. It’s been good to get the opportunity to spend another month together. It’s really what’s it’s about; play another football game. Really excited to play a team in LA Tech that as a player and a coach here, was always kind of on our schedule. Been to Rustin a few times. They’ve always been a dynamic team of athletes. Physical defense. I think it’s a great matchup. I’m happy for our kids and our fans. This is set up to be – I agree with him – I think it’s going to be a very enjoyable bowl game.”
Kickoff is at 5:30pm Saturday at Aloha Stadium.
