Hawaii ace Rees back this week against Seton Hall

Local Sports

University of Hawai’i ace pitcher Jackson Rees is slated to be back on the mound this week in the Rainbow Warriors series against Seton Hall.

Rees (2-0, 1.42 ERA) missed last week’s sweep of Illinois State with a blister on his pitching hand index finger, but says that the blister only had him downgraded to 80% last week. Rees added that he would’ve been able to pitch last week if need be, and is close to 100% now.

With the junior righty back in the rotation, head coach Mike Trapasso is planning to go with Rees Friday night, followed by senior lefty Dominic Demiero (1-1, 4.03 ERA) on Saturday, freshman righty Cade Smith (1-1, 1.26 ERA) Sunday, and senior righty Neil Uskali (3-1, 4.28 ERA) Monday. That rotation is not set in stone.

The ‘Bows are currently ranked 39th in the latest ratings percentage index.
