Girl’s state basketball title games preview

The Division I and Division II basketball state champions will be decided today as the remaining four teams will take to the hardwood at Stan Sheriff Center.

In Division II, it will be number one and number two as Hawaii Baptist plays Seabury.

Top seeded Hawaii Baptist are seeking their second state championship and first since 2015. They are 24-6 overall and looks to capitalize on their momentum as they have won their last twelve games. Seabury, who have not lost a game all season are 14-0 and are looking to capture their first ever state championship. They will be led by Junior Forward Anau Tuivai who ranks 4th in scoring in Division II with 15 ppg.

Over in Division I it will be an all ILH affair with Iolani playing KS-Kapalama.

Top seeded Iolani has left opponents in their wake in the tournament as they have outscored their opponents 110-54. They are seeking their first state championship since 1996 and have a overall record of 22-3.

KS-Kapalama are coming in with a record of 18-6 and are looking to capture their tenth state championship. They will be led by senior Forward Kalina Obrey who leads Division I with 19.9 ppg.

Tipoff for Division II begins at 5 with Division I to follow.
