Brooke Henderson set on defending title at Lotte Championship

Brooke Henderson is the defending champion of the Lotte Championship. The tournament tees off Wednesday morning at Ko Olina Golf Club.

A 21 year old from Canada, Henderson is one of the best players in the world, currently ranked 12th in the Rolex rankings. She won a major as a 19 year old and already has seven wins on the LPGA in her career.

She's never finished lower than 11th at the Lotte and is very comfortable with the course.

"I think the number one thing is just the wind," Henderson said after finishing her nine-hole pro-am on Tuesday morning. "When it's calm you can definitely go really low and when it's windy you just kind of have to play smart and take pars when you can. And I feel like this week it's going to be kind of in between. A little bit windy but not too bad. So I think the scores will be pretty low."

Last year, Henderson had two wins. Her second victory at the Canadian Open came about four and a half months after her title at Ko Olina. She had a overall consistent year with 11 top-tens.

"It's just been amazing to be on the LPGA Tour," reflected Henderson. "This is my fourth full year on Tour which is really really cool. In 2016, winning a major was awesome. But you know last year winning the Canadian Open, my national championship which was really cool for me in front of the hometown crowd. So I feel like every year there's something that's really special. Winning here last year, I would love to be able to come back and defend."
