The reigning Big West Conference regular season women’s basketball champions will return their leader in 2016.

Thursday morning, head coach Laura Beeman withdrew her name from consideration for the University of Utah head coaching opening, expressing her commitment to the Rainbow Wahine program.

“I love Hawai’i, this is where I want to be.” The 2014-2015 Big West coach of the year told KHON2 sports director Rob DeMello.

In three seasons in Manoa, Beeman has guided the Lady ‘Bows to a 57-37 record, including three women’s NIT appearances.

Undoubtedly, 2014-2015 saw the program rise to new levels, with the Big West title, an appearance in the conference championship game, and a 23-9 mark that included a 15 game winning streak.

Beeman’s current contract will take her through 2017.
