The home of the Governors was established in 1936 and is named after former territorial Gov. Wallace Rider Farrington.

The Govs have averaged six wins-per-season without a home field. That will change in 2017 with the completion of their new $20 million stadium.

While the team has sported a “G” on their helmets for several years, in 2014 they added a “Diamond S” in honor of their late former coach Skippa Diaz.

Coaching the Govs now is one of Skippa’s former players, Randall Okimoto, who helped with the school’s only OIA title as a running back in 1990.

Other alumni include former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano, Super Bowl champion Jesse Sapolu, and Japanese baseball Hall-of-Famer Wally Yonamine.
