The voyaging canoe Hokulea returned to Auckland, New Zealand this weekend.
She arrived after venturing to her farthest destination south, ever, South Island.
Last week Hokulea stopped in the country’s second largest port, Tauranga.
A cultural exchange had crew members visiting hot springs and language immersion programs.
They also shuttled school children to Hokulea for canoe tours and talks on navigation and the Malama Honua voyage around the world.
Hokulea is now docked at the New zealand Maritime Museum in Auckland.
Crewmembers are preparing her to go into dry-dock, before she leaves Polynesia for the first time when she sets sail for Australia in April.
