A Liliha family doing work on their home came across an unexpected find — an unexploded ordnance from World War II.
Crews found it while they were digging up the front yard to level the house.
Specialists with the Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit were called to the scene Thursday afternoon after the projectile was found buried in the yard.
Experts believe it’s an anti-aircraft round likely shot during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The ordnance will be taken to Schofield Barracks and properly disposed of there.
