Waipahu’s Williams to join Wong, Garcia with Cardinals

Waipahu High School graduate Jerome Williams is back in Major League Baseball.

The 34-year-old 10-year MLB veteran right-handed pitcher will be joining former University of Hawai’i stars Kolten Wong and Greg Garcia with the St. Louis Cardinals, the team announced today.

Williams compiled a 5-3 record with a 4.89 earned run average in 57 innings pitched in triple-A Memphis this season.

St. Louis will mark as Williams’ 8th Major League stop, including the Phillies, Rangers, Astros, Angels, Nationals, Cubs, and Giants.
