Uptick in afternoon showers due to approaching cold front, northwest swell to peak Tuesday evening

News

An approaching cold front to the northwest of the state will bring changes to the weather pattern Tuesday.

An increase in rainfall is expected to bump up by Tuesday afternoon.

The area of high pressure that has been generating trade winds is being pushed out by the cold front.

The bulk of those showers will be for the north and northeastern part of the state.

The stronger winds will start to kick in Wednesday through Thursday.

In surf, a new northwest swell wil peak Tuesday evening with up to 30-foot faces for the North Shore and up to 24-foot faces for the western shores.

A high surf warning is in effect for majority of north and west facing shores across the state.
