A deadly helicopter crash near Australia’s Great Barrier Reef leaves two people from Hawaii dead on Wednesday.
The crash happened about 40 miles from Whitsunday Islands.
Two tourists from Hawaii were killed and two passengers from Colorado suffered injuries.
The chopper was approaching near a pontoon that has underwater viewing chambers to view the coral reefs.
Officials say the five-seat, single-engine helicopter crashed as it was approaching the pontoon to land.
All four passengers reportedly knew each other.
The cause of the crash is now under investigation
