Trade winds are strengthening Wednesday, helping clear out pockets of vog

After a few days of light trades, easterly winds are forecast to increase into breezy levels on Wednesday.  Winds will peak near 25 mph.

Vog (volcanic haze) has spread through much of Hawaii Island.  With stronger trades much of the vog plume will be pushed out to open waters, although parts of Kona and Kau may continue to see hazy skies.

Showers will remain over windward areas and are expected to be quick passing light to moderate trade showers.  Drier weather could arrive later this week.
