The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball improved to 2-2 in the 2018 season by beating Coastal Carolina for the second night in a row.

The Rainbow Wahine defeated the Chanticleers in straight sets for the second straight night.

After the end of the game, Akiu was surprised by her coach and teammates with a scholarship. The senior libero transferred to UH this offseason after playing the first three years of her collegiate career at Texas Tech. Akiu is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama. She led the team in digs in the win with 11.

Mckenna Granato led the Rainbow Wahine with 14 kills.

Hawaii plays next on Thursday at home when they host Idaho.
