The island chain can expect diminishing winds with possible rainfall for this aloha Monday

The bulk of the windy condtions is over for the islands.

As a strong area of low pressure will lift northeastward and away from the state over the next couple of days, resulting in diminishing winds.

Despite the departure of the storm, bands of moisture will continue to move through the area, bringing showers into windward areas, with a few of these shower spilling into leeward locales.

A deeper band of moisture is expected to move through late Tuesday through Wednesday, bringing an increase in shower coverage and intensity as well as a return of northeast trade winds.

Breezy to locally windy trades are then expected Wednesday through next weekend, with a more typical windward and mauka focused shower pattern.
