The ‘fruit’ of KHON2 take part in Banana Man race

News

People both young and old took part in one of the wackiest races in Hawaii, and it was all for a good cause.

KHON2’s own Jai Cunningham, Taizo Braden, Kelly Simek and John Veneri led the field in the 14th Annual Jamba Banana Man 5K Chase Saturday morning.

Runners had to chase KHON2’s “fruit” around Ala Moana Park for a chance to win prizes and help fund Hawaii Speed and Quickness.

Around 1,500 people participated and about $7,500 was raised for the non-profit youth fitness organization.

And speaking of keiki, there was a special race for them around Magic Island.
