Firefighters extinguished a storage shed that caught fire Monday night at Hanapēpē stadium.
No injuries were reported.
Shortly after 8 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure on fire at Hanapēpē stadium. Once on scene, responders found two collapsed shipping containers with a connecting roof fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from the Hanapēpē, Kalāheo, and Līhu‘e fire stations, along with the on-duty Battalion Chief, quickly established a water supply and formed attack lines to knock down the blaze. The fire was brought under control, and personnel continued suppression activities until the fire was fully extinguished.
The scene was cleared at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Fire inspectors estimate the damage to the storage shed and its contents to be roughly $175,000.
