CAPE COD, Mass. (WPRI) – A great white hunting in the waters off Cape Cod had to look elsewhere for his lunch, after a seal managed to escape.

The video – shot by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy – shows a great white leap out of the water while trying to snatch and eat a seal.

The shark failed and the seal got away.

However, the Conservancy noted on their Facebook page that after the failed attempt, the shark was successful with another seal. A few days earlier, they witnessed another unlucky seal (viewer discretion advised).

Scientists said it was the first known natural breach documented off the Cape.

The Conservancy works to tag and track great white activity. Scientists said Monday was another busy day, as they tagged another two 12-foot great whites in Cape waters. They also tagged another two last week.

Spotter pilot Wayne Davis captured this incredible aerial image of the research team watching a mid air collision of white shark and seal in a failed predation attempt off Monomoy yesterday (8/17/15).Posted by Atlantic White Shark Conservancy on Tuesday, August 18, 2015
