HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i Rainbow Warrior football team will sport a new look for the 2015 season with green and silver home uniforms outfitted by Under Armour.
The green jerseys and silver pants will be accompanied by the iconic green metallic helmet. The new threads will make its debut in the team’s home and season opener against Colorado, Thursday, Sept, 3 in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network.
According to Under Armour, who has provided uniforms and apparel for the Rainbow Warriors since 2008, “the material construction is a ribbed stretch knit combined with a stretch micro-fiber fabric to provide a compressive, resulting in a difficult to hold feel for competitors. The pants are also made from similar stretch material but is also the first fully sublimated patterned pant UA has done for NCAA competition.”
The Rainbow Warriors will introduce silver pants into their uniform rotation for the first time since 2007.
Replicas of the new jersey are available at the H-Zone Store in Ward Center and online at H-ZoneOnline.com.
