Rail work will require lane, sidewalk closures on Queen, Waimanu streets

Work for Honolulu’s rail project will require lane and sidewalk closures around the intersection of Queen and Waimanu streets.

The closures are scheduled to start Dec. 17 and last for approximately two months on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some on-street parking may also be restricted.

The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation says traffic control is necessary for crews to perform exploratory digging to locate utilities for rail.

Those in the area may encounter increased traffic and noise levels.

Bus service will not be affected.
