Plate lunches statewide will have a new look if a bill banning polystyrene becomes law.
Senate Bill 2498 not only seeks to ban the containers for food, but also drinks.
Lawmakers behind the bill say doing so will cut down on litter and pollution.
If passed into the law, the ban would take effect on July 1, 2019. The state House will hold a hearing on the matter on Friday, March 16.
