Presidential candidate Rubio on Hawaii caucus: ‘Every delegate’s going to count’

News

The Hawaii Republican Caucus takes place Tuesday, March 8. More information about the caucus can be found here.

One of the presidential candidates, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, has even been running campaign ads here in Hawaii.

He’s up against Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich for the GOP nomination.

KHON2 spoke with Rubio via satellite Monday about his push for votes here in the islands.

“Hawaii is often ignored, just not in the presidential race but in the Republican contest,” he said. “We’re the only ones campaigning there and we started this effort even before we got to this point, because this is going to be a Republican contest in which every delegate’s going to count.”

As for Hawaii’s Democrats, their preference poll will happen on Saturday, March 26.
