Power restored to 2,000 in East Oahu after repairs to downed line

Hawaiian Electric confirms more than 2,000 customers in East Oahu were out of power due to a downed power line.

The outage was initially reported at around 4:30 p.m. and stretched from Kaimuki to Aina Haina, including Kahala Mall.

Crews pinpointed the cause: a downed power line on 19th Avenue.

Repairs were completed and power restored shortly before 6 p.m.
