Due to the potential threat of Hurricane Lane, the University of Montana and Arizona State University women’s soccer teams have notified the University of Hawai’i they will not travel to Hawai’i, forcing the cancellation of this week’s Rainbow Wahine Soccer Invitational.
The Rainbow Wahine (1-1) were scheduled to host the Griz on Wednesday and Sun Devils on Friday at the Waipi’o Peninsula Soccer Stadium, ending a four-match season-opening homestand. Montana and ASU were also scheduled to face each other on Sunday.
As of Tuesday morning, this week’s Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic women’s volleyball tournament will remain as scheduled. The three-day event is expected to run Friday through Sunday at the Stan Sheriff Center featuring UH, Gonzaga, Kansas State, and UCLA.
The UH Athletics Department is monitoring the situation and further information will be available on HawaiiAthletics.com and the department’s social media accounts.
