A portion of Piilani Highway in Kipahulu will be shut down next week.
The Department of Public Works is testing the road’s stability after storm surges and high surf caused significant damage to the makai side of the road.
The damage is located at Kalepa Point, near mile-marker 38.5.
Currently, the road is only open to one lane of traffic. Officials will shut down the road completely from July 25-28, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
