High absentee, early walk-in turnout expected with polls ready to close

Political News

The Senate floor has turned into the official ballot counting center. Once the official word comes in that all 235 polling sites across the state have closed, the first round of results will be released.

As Gina Mangieri explains, roughly 200,000 residents cast their votes prior to Tuesday by absentee mail-in and walk-in ballots, far more than August’s primary election.

The first printout will have about 70 to 80 percent or those ballots which could be about 1/3 of total votes cast.
