A Honolulu Police Sergeant who was seen on video a few years ago hitting his former girlfriend has been arrested.
He has been charged with misdemeanor abuse of a household member and two counts of harassment. Bail has been set at $1,500.
The Honolulu Police Department tell us that his police powers will be removed, and criminal and administrative investigations have been initiated.
“Domestic violence continues to be a priority for the HPD,” said Chief Susan Ballard. “Every allegation is thoroughly investigated, and the appropriate action is taken. We expect our officers to be positive examples for the community, both on and off duty, and are disappointed with the allegations regarding this officer’s conduct.”
