Police arrest patient who attacked paramedic

News

Emergency Medical Services reports that just before 8 p.m. Saturday, the Waialua EMS crew was transporting a patient to a local hospital when the patient physically assaulted an emergency medical technician.

The patient, a 36-year old man, lunged at the EMT, punching her twice in the chest. This occurred after the patient already verbally assaulted the crew, jumped out of the ambulance and then returned to the vehicle to attack the crew.

The Honolulu Police Department responded and the male was arrested.

The EMT was treated at a hospital.
