Pokémon GO: Catch ’em all and make money?

Meet the envy of all Pokémon GO players.

A Brooklyn man has caught em’ all. Well, every single Pokémon there is in North America.

That’s why he’s now on a mission to go international and catch the rest.

Nick Johnson is the first person in North America to capture all 142 Pokémon.

He has been a fan of Pokémon since he was eight-years-old, but never had any intention of “winning” the game when he started to play on July 6.

“My interest in that came from the interest in the work I do at Applico. It’s a subject that I’m passionate enough about,” Johnson explained.

Johnson says he works 50 hours plus, at the tech company.

“I would go out after work at about six, 6:30 and my girlfriend would meet me and we’d grab dinner and walk around catch Pokémon. I played about 6 to 8 hours a day when I would leave after work and I walk about an average of 8 miles a day. I lost about 8 to 10 pounds in the process,” Johnson said.

After 2 weeks of walking through all five boroughs and even a stop in Jersey City, Johnson ended up at Grand Army Plaza at the entrance to Central Park.

This place is loaded with hundreds of Pokémon GO players that gather in the hopes catching Pokémon, and this is where Johnson captured his last one.

Pokémon trainers in the area said Johnson’s feat doesn’t discourage them.

But they point out that he hasn’t really caught them all, there are some that can only be found in other countries.

Johnson knows this and is on his way to play in Asia, Europe, and Australia to try to capture them.

Johnson’s advice to those trying to finish the game is to stay safe and be aware of your surroundings.

All three companies that are responsible for making the “Pokémon GO app” have yet to contact Johnson to congratulate him. But he says he’d love to work with them and help them promote the game.

Pokémon GO has been a huge hit, and people who were not getting much physical activity are suddenly always outside catching Pokémon.

Some have gone so far as to say the game could benefit your health if it makes you more active.

Now a company claims they’re giving away up to 10 thousand dollars if you lose weight playing the game.

HealthyWage CEO David Roddenberry says Pokemon GO is the “best public health solution we’ve had in the past 10 years.”

Roddenberry’s company develops health incentive programs using what they call weight wagering. Users pick the number of pounds they want to lose, wager a dollar amount, and pick the number of months they want to lose the weight. The HealthyWager algorithm then sets the terms of the wager.

The company claims it isn’t gambling because participants are in control of the outcome and it’s not a game of chance or a game of skill.
