Nexstar Broadcasting Inc., the parent company of KHON2, is expanding in Hawaii.
The company is buying the broadcast license assets of KFVE, the MyNetworkTV affiliate in Hawaii, and its satellite stations KGMV-TV serving Wailuku and KGMD-TV serving Hilo.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In a news release, Nexstar says the stations will “further complement the existing programming and marketing solutions and services of KHON-TV (FOX) and khon2.com, which it delivers to its viewers and advertisers in Hawaii.”
The deal is expected to be approved by regulators in the first quarter of next year.
