Navy News: Career in the Coast Guard

News

Whether they’re responding to people in distress, cleaning up pollution, inspecting vessels or keeping us safe, the Coast Guard is a bit of a household name here in Hawaii and they’re looking for qualified men and women who are interested in potential career opportunities!

This morning on Wake Up 2day, Petty Officer 1st Class Manuel Gonzales, a storekeeper and one of the recruiters here in Honolulu, joined us in studio to talk about career opportunities.

Gonzales said graduation season is right around the corner so now is a perfect time for those who are looking for a new, challenging and exciting career opportunity in the Coast Guard!

“We are looking for highly motivated young men and women between the ages of 17 and 31,” said Gonzales. “The Coast Guard is also offering a $2,000 signing bonus for everyone who enters the service and successfully completes boot camp.”

The best way to get more information is to contact the office at Pearlridge Shopping Mall.

The Navy is also hiring civilians. If you’re looking for a federal job as an engineers, security guard or firefighter, mark you calendar for Wednesday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 P.M. at the Blaisdell.
